Finally. Lockdown in Malaysia. Anyone need any advice on how to survive a lockdown just let me know. I have been in quarantine and lockdown for over 4 weeks now in Beijing. :)
Important things you need to get.
1. Stock up panadol and medicine. It is a bad time to go to the hospital or clinic.
2. Get a thermometer to measure your temperature twice daily, in the morning and in the evening. Record it down.
Just to prepare some of you in Malaysia what's gonna happen.
1. All your favourite restaurants and mamaks will be closed.
2. Supermarkets will still be open for food and toilet paper. But I would suggest that if possible only go out once or twice a week just to get food. Go during off peak time so you get less crowds.
3. Most malls will be closed too so no point going to malls.
4. Avoid going to parks for jogging, a lot people running there and sweating without masks.
5. Avoid taking public transportation like buses and trains. The virus spreads easier in confined spaces especially with air condition.
6. Avoid ALL possible crowded areas if possible.
7. Always if possible wear a mask. People in the western countries tell you to only wear a mask if you are sick it is because they do not have enough mask in their country. Wear it for yourself and others, you got nothing to lose. When you arrive home, remove your mask without touching your face and throw it away into a plastic bag and dispose of it. And wash your hands with soap.
8. Disposable latex gloves are cheap in Malaysia so wear them when you go to the supermarket and banks to handle bank notes to other people. Also when you carry your groceries and food items. Dispose them the same way as your mask, then wash your hands with soap.
9. Disinfect your clothes after you come back from outside. Wash your hands first, then if possible also wipe the inside of your car steering wheel and door handles. Anything that you have touched need to be cleaned.
10. Don't forget to disinfect your mobile phone too especially the screen and covers. And for the ladies your handbags.
11. Try to do food order delivery as most of the restaurants are close, some might still open for deliveries.
12. If you wear any shoes, sandals or slippers to go outside please remember to disinfect them too and wash your feet with soap.
13. In fact, I take a long shower after I come back home everytime just to be safe. The clothes immediately goes into the washing machine to wash.
That's all for now, have a happy lockdown Malaysia.
Please share this post to anyone who need to know. God bless and stay safe everyone.
